Stakeholder Study

Between December 2021 and February 2022 the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) engaged with 88 space professionals from all geographic regions, asking them about their:

• Interpretations of the Guidelines for the Long-term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities (LTS Guidelines);
• Implementation practices;
• Challenges faced in LTS Guidelines implementation;
• Possible needs for specific assistance to help them implement the LTS Guidelines; as well as
• Long-term aspirations in connection with the LTS Guidelines. 

To make the process as inclusive as possible, interpretation for the interviews was offered in all the official languages of the United Nations.

The views and comments of the interviewees were summarized in a stakeholder study report, which was published in May 2022.
